Sarah has just finished her presidency of the Wisconsin Union Directorate (WUD) and her last semester as an undergraduate at UW-Madison this spring. Special Olympics Wisconsin athletes set out on Lake Mendota with Hoofers instructors, family and friends. The sun rises on Lake Mendota as Michael Beil, a quadriplegic, takes on a new adventure. The Hoofers Sailing program has given Michael the opportunity to sail alongside an instructor as part of their adaptive membership. Michael is the first quadriplegic to sail with Hoofers and as a pilot, he has helped Hoofers learn and grow out the programming for future athletes.   The memories of the Union last forever and apparently so do our cards! A true symbol of a lifetime member, Robert Oberwetter’s Union Membership from 1958 was shared with us by his son, Tom, who keeps the laminated piece of history in his wallet.
