Hoofer Ski and Snowboard Club
In March, we headed out to Mt. Bachelor in Bend, Ore., to compete in the U.S. Collegiate Ski & Snowboard National Championships and came home with the Men’s Snowboarding National Title. It was an incredibly rewarding moment, the result of four years of hard work and dedication. It all started back in 2022 when Michael Zeimentz and I traveled to Lake Placid, N.Y., and managed to take third.
Over the next two seasons, we pushed even harder, with Chase Podurgiel, Calvin Spoden, and Clyde Tinnen joining the squad. We came close both years but just missed the top spot. Coming into this season, we were more motivated than ever, putting in countless hours on and off the hill to prepare. At Nationals, everyone delivered some of the best runs of their lives, and it all came together. We won the first Overall Title in team history, and it couldn’t have felt better.
