Members Invited to Second Annual Hearts & Drafts
Words cannot express how grateful, we, at the Wisconsin Union, are for our members’ support. So, in honor of Valentine’s Day, we are showing Union members how much we appreciate them through chocolate.
Fine chocolates and drafts will come together once again at the Wisconsin Union’s member-exclusive event Hearts & Drafts on Feb. 19 at Union South.
Interested in attending? Wisconsin Union Membership Director Jan Viney recommends purchasing a ticket early as last year’s 200 tickets sold out quickly. The membership team increased the number of tickets to 250 due to this popular demand but expects this will be another sold out celebration.
“It was a member feedback-driven decision to hold this again,” Viney said. “We’re looking forward to introducing members to even more draft and chocolate pairings that they may not have thought about before.”
In addition to offering more tickets, the Union membership team has made a few changes to make this year’s celebration even sweeter than the inaugural Hearts & Drafts, including live music performed by the Midwest-based music ensemble the Ben Ferris Trio.
The music of these creative musicians will complement delicious pairings to be debuted at the member appreciation event.
“Last year, a cayenne pepper-topped brownie was the most talked about offering,” Viney said. “It’s really a ‘wow’ moment when you discover these new flavors that work so well together.”
While exploring these new culinary combinations, members will also have the opportunity to connect with one another and learn more about the benefits of their membership and the impact their membership has at the Union.
Membership funds help support dozens of student leadership opportunities at the Wisconsin Union. In fact, a student intern manages all aspects of the Hearts & Drafts event, including coordinating graphic design and responding to event inquiries.
“We are so grateful to everyone who has committed to supporting the Union,” Viney said. “We hope through events like this our members feel how truly appreciated they are.”
