Building Experiences for a Lifetime Together: Day of the Badger

Creating community, supporting student leadership and fostering lifelong learning help guide everything we do.
That work simply wouldn’t be possible without you, our supporters, especially as a mostly self-supporting nonprofit.
Each year, Badger and Badger-at-heart supporters join together for two days of giving to efforts at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. It’s a time when the community across the world makes a big difference. This year’s effort took place April 14-15 and is anticipated to return again next April.
Among those efforts were opportunities to give to the Wisconsin Union Annual Fund and our Undergraduate Student Success Fund.
Gifts to the Annual Fund help ensure our spaces and programs remain available and accessible to all. It supports the traditions people return to year after year and the new experiences that reflect new ideas, new community needs, emerging and renowned thought leaders and new art. It helps create an environment where everyone who gathers can feel a sense of community and belonging. During Day of the Badger, Badgers and Badgers-at-heart gave 107 gifts, totaling $34,017.
Undergraduate Student Success Fund gifts support out-of-classroom learning. It gives students opportunities to explore, lead, connect and grow in ways that shape who they become and the leadership roles they play in their communities and here at UW-Madison. These are the real-world experiences that build confidence, perspective and lifelong, transferrable skills. Over the course of two days, supporters gave 27 gifts, totaling $10,610 to this fund.
While Day of the Badger is a special day to give, gifts any time of the year make a difference. Your gifts become part of a shared experience of giving felt by students across campus. With each gift, students can see how much people care about them, the experiences they share and create and the spaces that feel like home to them (and to so many of us).
