Wisconsin Singers are Bringing Broadway to You

Looking for an incredible music performance, but Broadway’s one too many flights away? We’ve got just the group for you, and they’ll be at a Midwest town near you this year!

Meet the Wisconsin Singers, the University of Wisconsin–Madison’s “Official Ambassadors of Goodwill” since 1967 (and a new addition to the Wisconsin Union family), bringing top-caliber performances of the greatest hits across music genres by the campus’ most talented students.

With electric smiles, crisp dance moves, and vocals that will leave you with goosebumps, the Wisconsin Singers holds some of the campus’ top performers.

Each year, the 30+ student performers take on a brand-new original show and travel to dozens of cities across the region to share their stellar song, dance, and star-quality charisma. The Wisconsin Singers’ 56th season is titled “When Opposites Attract,” and features top hits from the past 40 years of American pop, jazz, rock, funk and show tunes.

The Wisconsin Singers provides an outlet for students to continue pursuing their love of performing outside of a performing arts degree. In fact, the group represents over 20 majors, including engineering, biology, English, and business! It’s the perfect way for students to explore their many passions – having creative outlets alongside educational opportunities – and make friends that love performing too.

“There are few college experiences that mirror the excitement and uniqueness of touring a large production to communities around the state, and this year’s troupe of student performers is beyond honored to carry on this 56th UW–Madison tradition with their show ‘When Opposites Attract,'” says Abby Pritzl, executive producer of the Wisconsin Singers. “It’s our best show yet! I’m really looking forward to watching audiences across the state fall in love with these talented student performers and be swept up in the magic of a Wisconsin Singers show!”

With each community performance in every tour stop, the Wisconsin Singers also take the time to hold free workshops with local schools to inspire children to keep the arts in their lives – that it’s possible to plan a career in the chemistry field but still perform with your friends. As university student role models, the Wisconsin Singers also encourage kids to consider working toward a college education.

The 10-piece student Wisconsin Singers band keeps the party going with rocking rhythms and jazzed up solos!

Ready to see the students in action and take part in a UW–Madison tradition? The Wisconsin Singers are set to enter the new year with a 25-plus-stop tour across the country. There’s a song for everyone at this one-of-a-kind show – you won’t want to miss it!
