Wisconsin Union unveils new website
The Union South building project and the upcoming Memorial Union renovation provide a fresh look to the physical appearance of the Wisconsin Union. Along with these facility changes, the Union marketing department has launched a brand new website.
The website was designed with the user in mind and was broadened to make sure content was compatible with the diverse needs of visitors–whether students, faculty, Union members, or the community. The overall design focuses more on visual elements and less on body copy. More than 40,000 files were trimmed to fit into 700 pages in the new, easy-to-use content management system.
Visitors can check out the homepage to find a stream of upcoming events fed from the event calendar or find links to connect to Union social media sites. The homepage also now offers an easier navigation bar that provides quick access to the most popular pages– including the Memorial Union, Union South, the Terrace and Der Rathskeller.
The new face is meant to “look like the Union,” reflecting the mission to be the heart and soul of the campus. More than 50 hours per month have gone into the design, since last summer.
Special kudos go out to the dedicated marketing department for all of their hard work pulling this together.
