Your Terrace Season Bucket List
I have yet to try many Wisconsin Union adventures. Let’s make a deal; I’ll try something new this summer through the Union, and you will, too!
I put together my Terrace season 2024 bucket list and am sharing it here with you! Don’t know about Terrace season? Oh, my friend, you are in for a treat: we’re talkin’ summer by the lake with free concerts, free movies and oh so much more. Don’t have a friend with a lake house? Well, now you do. Learn about Terrace season at TerraceSummer.com.
First on my list this Terrace season is making the most of low-cost paddling rentals from Outdoor UW, right on the shore of Lake Mendota by the Terrace. A sun-kissed Lake Mendota paired with a paddle board will be the ideal start to my Madison summer, and I cannot wait. From an eight-person paddle board to a single kayak, find me on Lake Mendota!
Live, outdoor music in the summer? Yes, please. Summer is outdoor concert season, and it doesn’t get better than music at the Memorial Union Terrace. Why? Well, for one, your concerts are at a lakefront! Plus, where else can you enjoy free live music, on-site dining options and art activities, kayaking and so much more. To-be-announced performers will fill the space with a wide range of genres. I am looking forward to bringing a few friends and taking in the sounds of summer.
Inspiration can be found all around the Terrace, from beautiful blue water to colorful sunburst chairs. The natural beauty of the Terrace will help inspire my art at Terrace Art Zone hosted by Wheelhouse Studios. From May 29 to Aug. 17, Wednesday-Saturday from 5-8 p.m., patrons can try a variety of free art projects.
Can you believe I have never tried the seasonal, beloved dining option, the Brat Stand? The Brat Stand located right at the Terrace will open on April 19. Nothing beats an appetizing meal on a crispy afternoon, especially when it comes down to a brat or burger. No need to step out of the sun – find me in line, anticipating a savory meal.
Yoga… outside… on a lake? Count me in. This summer, Outdoor UW is back co-hosting yoga classes at Memorial Union. Start your day with some mindful meditation and a possible jump in nearby Lake Mendota. I am ready to test my balance on a paddleboard and grow my yoga experience.
