Terrace food options expand with the opening of The Gazebo and Brat Stand

With summer in full swing and the Memorial Union Reinvestment still going strong, you’d be hard pressed to look around and pinpoint a single Terrace icon resistant to change.
Earlier this month, the Brat Stand underwent a massive facelift, and the Terrace welcomed a newcomer to the food stand family: The Gazebo. Between the Terrace food stands, Der Rathskeller and Lakefront on Langdon, diners can find just about anything to satisfy their cravings.
The Brat Stand
Having long been an iconic Terrace structure, the Brat Stand – now bigger and better – reopened earlier this month, serving up classic menu items like Klement’s brats, burgers and corn on the cob, as well as beverages served using a state-of-the-art beer system.
Wisconsin Union Restaurant Director Jim Long said the expanded structure, which includes new equipment to help keep food fresher longer, will provide the space needed to pair the Brat Stand’s menu with events on the Terrace, like jambalaya during the Isthmus Jazz Festival or a seafood boil on Friday nights.
The Gazebo
The Gazebo is the newest food concept that was just introduced on the Terrace’s east end. The Gazebo’s menu features slow-roasted pork sliders, fire-seared chicken, crispy falafel, fresh salads, cheese curds, nachos and brownie bites. Complete with a food truck and caddy, The Gazebo also offers a wide variety of Wisconsin Craft Beers that rotate regularly and are difficult to find in other locations.
More than just a new dining location on the Terrace, The Gazebo also provides a whole new seating section allowing people to gather closer to the lake as they enjoy more intimate conversations without missing out on the Terrace ambience.
