Ski and Snowboard club sets Colorado trip dates for January
By Ella Stutz
Every winter the Hoofer Ski and Snowboard (SnS) club takes a trip out west. And this year, the club will be traveling to Steamboat Springs, Col. from Jan. 9 to Jan. 17.
According to the Steamboat Springs’ website, “nestled 7,000 feet up in the Colorado Rockies, Steamboat is one of North America’s largest ski mountains. With 164 trails, 3,600 vertical feet, and nearly 3,000 skiable acres, its six peaks are filled with world-class groomed cruisers, bumps, steeps, open meadows, and legendary tree skiing,”
Ski and snowboard trips have been a welcome tradition since Hoofers SnS was formed and have always been a great success. This year, the club is providing trip attendees with the option of traveling with an included bus fare or without.
The bus trip option includes full coach bus transportation, six nights lodging at the Phoenix Condominiums, four out of five days worth of life Tickets, a trip t-shirt, a free Baby Bash concert, and per Wisconsin tradition, a Brat Fry!
The land trip option includes the same features without transportation. Low costs help provide a fun trip for people of all abilities and income levels. The cost is $670 for a bus package and $485 for a land package.
Anyone is invited to attend, including UW Madison students and Union members alike. Hoofers makes having fun easy and stress free for all.
Hoofers visited Steamboat Springs, Col. just a few years ago. In 1986, the club also traveled to Steamboat and the vacation became a true family affair as a UW Madison student and Hoofer member’s father attended. Check out some pictures of his trip to see Hoofers’ past fun.
Be sure to check back for pictures after winter break from this year’s trip!
