Must-Do Wisconsin Union Experiences Before Graduation

So, you’re graduating. First of all, congratulations! This is an exciting milestone! You may be wondering if there is anything else you should do before the big ceremony, or maybe graduation is still a few semesters away, and you’re just thinking ahead.

Either way, as a graduating senior, I have put together a short list of things to do before your time on campus comes to an end. Whether you are graduating in a couple of months or you still have some time, here are a few must-dos while you’re still on campus.

1. Take an art class at Wheelhouse Studios.

If you haven’t taken an art class at Wheelhouse Studios, consider this your sign. Offering art classes in drawing, fabric arts, ceramics, jewelry and more, participants of all skill levels are welcome to join in on art-making. No grades. No judgement. Just art-making. Access to the studio’s three workspaces is free for current University of Wisconsin–Madison students. (You can keep your access to this and other Wisconsin Union spaces with a lifetime membership after graduation.)

2. Have fun with friends at Sett Recreation.

Looking for something fun to do with friends? Sett Recreation is the place to go. From bowling and billiards to video games, there are so many opportunities to have fun. With events like glow-in-the-dark bowling and $5.25 pool tables on Tuesdays, Sett Recreation cannot be missed!

3. Check out a movie at the Marquee Cinema.

We at the Wisconsin Union have our very own movie theater, the Marquee Cinema, in Union South. With high-definition projection and an advanced sound system, we bring the movie theater experience to you. Check out our list of screenings to see if we are playing any of your favorite movies, or take a chance on something new. You may just find your new favorite.

Extend your Wisconsin Union membership.

While you are a student at UW–Madison, you are automatically temporarily a Wisconsin Union member, but that doesn’t have to end when you graduate. Through the purchase of a lifetime membership, you will have access to a number of discounts on your favorite activities and events as well as continued opportunities for experiences of a lifetime

Here at the Wisconsin Union, there are numerous ways to connect and have fun. Even if your time on campus as a student is coming to an end, the fun does not have to stop. For more information on events, activities and Experiences for a lifetime, you can find it all at union.wisc.edu.
