HOOFPRINTS: Delta Lodge 2012 – Hoofer Outing Club
This January, twenty four adventurous Hoofer Outing Club members trekked to a wonderful place called Delta Lodge in Iron River, Wisconsin to cross-country ski and find snow for three days at area trails.
The first night we arrived, we skied to a wonderful family-owned restaurant across from the lodge. After that, we went to Michigan, where snow was piling up. We spent the day teaching beginners and getting lost on the trail system at ABR.
We spent he next few days at North Ends trail system, which crosses the American Birkebeiner trail system, and went to Telemark Resort, both in Cable, Wisconsin. After countless kilometers, everyone pitched in to make dinner and relax in the cabins!
At the end of outing, we had breakfast at Delta Diner, an old-school diner that opens up for us on Monday morning, and took the long drive back to Madison.
