On April 1st, the Hoofer Riding Club had their annual Dressage Preparation Clinic with Nicole Trapp.

Each participant was able to ride a dressage test for the judge, Nicole Trapp. Afterwards, she talked with the riders about how their test went and then worked with the rider to improve their test score in the future. The clinic was offered for any level rider, from Intro A and up. The Riding Club had a wide range of participants throughout the day, from first timers in Intro A to seasoned riders competing in First Level.

The Riding Club holds the clinic every spring to give new riders the opportunity to learn about dressage and give them a taste of what our schooling shows are like. It also gives the seasoned dressage riders an opportunity to see how they are doing from the judges point of view. It’s a great opportunity for all levels of riders to get a specialized lesson and learn many show tips.

Throughout the day, it was especially exciting to see the many Riding Club lesson students working on their dressage tests. One of the Hoofer Riding Club instructors, Tracy Becker, commented, “I loved having my students participate in the clinic. It is a very educational opportunity to be able to talk with another person about things you need improvement on.” She went on to explain that the experience continues to beneficial afterwards, stating that, “[the clinic] gives new light to issues they may have been having during lessons and it gives them an idea of what to continue to work on for the future.”
