Make Your Finals Week Plans With the Union
The Wisconsin Union is bringing back Finals Frenzy events to help you beat the finals blues and finish the semester strong. Badgers will soon face the annual doom that is finals week, so the Union is gearing up to provide food discounts, freebies, games and late-night hours to keep students feeling calm and collected.
Between May 5 and 12, be on the lookout for Penny Promotions on the Union Twitter page: @WisconsinUnion. Penny Promotions are limited-time only deals at various Union restaurants, which will offered select food items for just a penny. Our social media team will let you know when and where they’re happening so that you can keep your study spot, enjoy quality food and save money.
Give yourself the chance to relax with some good, old-fashioned TLC. Terrace, lounge and coloring, that is. Take your books out to the Terrace to soak up some knowledge with a side of vitamin D. If you prefer the great indoors, plug into Lakeview Lounge and take in the sights of Lake Mendota. When it’s time to recharge, grab a coffee from Peet’s, and do some coloring. Union team members will be handing out free coloring pages throughout the week to provide those much-needed study breaks.
Our team will also hand out kindness cards, which are coupons with surprise discounts unveiled when you scratch away their surface.
To add to the fun, the Wisconsin Union Directorate is partnering with the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Education to host a scavenger hunt on campus.
We want to make sure you have enough time for studying and having fun, so we’re extending our building hours to 3 a.m. for finals week.
Along with freebies, fun and food to lift your spirits, University Health Services counselors will host free, drop-in “Let’s Talk” sessions in Union South to make sure you have the support you need to end the semester on a positive note. These are informal and confidential consultations during which you can talk through concerns about worry, stress, sadness, financial struggles and any other problem you’re facing.
Between late nights, junk food and endless study sessions, finals week can be hard on a Badger. Whether you’re studying or taking part in the activities, the Wisconsin Union is here to get through finals week. Study strong, Badgers.
