Engrave your name in Theater history

As part of the ongoing Memorial Union Reinvestment, the Wisconsin Union Theater is undergoing its first comprehensive renovation since it opened in 1939. To celebrate the venue’s reimagining, the Wisconsin Union has launched a campaign designed to raise funds that will support completing the renovations.
The “Name A Seat” campaign provides the opportunity for donors dedicate a Theater seat with a plaque honoring a family member, a friend, a theater group, a mentor, and anyone in between who has impacted them in a meaningful way. The plaques will be inscribed and mounted on one of over 1,100 seats in the newly renovated Theater. Gifts made by May 2014 are guaranteed to be installed just in time for the grand re-opening of the Wisconsin Union Theater and first performance in Fall 2014. Seats are available at donation levels of $500, $1000, and $2500. The campaign will run until all the seats are sold.
“The Name A Seat campaign is a great opportunity for our friends and members to reconnect with the Union and leave a legacy for their family or dedicate a seat in honor of a loved one,” said Timeka Rumph, member relations coordinator at the Wisconsin Union. “There have been some life-changing experiences that have happened here at the Union, specifically in the Theater, and we are happy to give people an opportunity to recognize that.”
Proceeds from the campaign go to the Wisconsin Union Building Fund, which directly supports the renovation of the Theater spaces at Memorial Union.
