Why We Love Free Art Friday

Students joined Wheelhouse Studios to get into the Valentine’s Day spirit last Friday by creating a giant card for Madison, along with 3D crafts. Wheelhouse Studios Director Jay Ekleberry said that it was great to see so many students collaborating on the project in a carefree environment, as students were able to relax after their long school week. The inspiration for the giant valentine was for students to gain an appreciation for working together. This event was part of of Wheelhouse’s Free Art Fridays, where they sponsor free events the...

But the freshly laid snow covering the Terrace is a harsh reminder that our beloved Terrace chairs are not with us this season. When we’re away from those we love, we may find ourselves starting to forget the little things. Is the yellow more of a dandelion color, or pastel? Do all the chairs have armrests? Do any of the chairs have armrests?! Fear not! You will see your...

Setting the Stage for Student Programming

Being a Badger and Wisconsin Union Directorate (WUD) member go hand-in-hand for Max Scharrer. Describing himself as a “Wuddie for life,” Max has been a WUD member since he began at UW-Madison. Max first encountered WUD at a wedding in Tripp Commons the summer before his freshman year while he enjoyed a concert on the Terrace stage. He found out that the WUD Music Committee was putting on the show and became an active member soon after. “When I was a clueless, lonely, homesick freshman WUD took me in and gave me a place of refuge,” says Max....
