Union Reunion 2017 Connects Generations of WUD Leaders

Over 140 alumni came together at the Union this November.

Throughout Memorial Union’s 90 year history, thousands of students have made the historic building their home-away-from-home. Student employees, WUD leaders, Hoofer members and more all found friendships and made great memories during their years at the Union–and during the 2017 Union Family Reunion, they all got to relive their glory days.

Re-connections through conversations, food, tours, student mini-TED Talks, Badger Game Watch and more occurred for over 140 former Wisconsin Union student leaders and staff.

WUD Vice President of External Relations Courtney Medick said it was amazing to get to show off the newly renovated Memorial Union to alumni, as so much of the building was restored to the way they remembered.

“It was incredible to hear everyone’s stories and feel their love and nostalgia for the Union,” Medick said. “To know that we as students were a key part in bringing all of these Union alumni together and to know that one day, years from now, we’ll be in their shoes is unbelievable.”

The goal of all WUD committees is to help create, shape and prepare tomorrow’s leaders–this weekend, the Union got to see the success of all past students in action.
