Win or Lose: March Madness Gamewatches

In past years, Wisconsin Union members and guests have gathered at Memorial Union and Union South to cheer on the Badgers through their journeys in NCAA Division I men’s basketball tournaments. Ending a 19-year streak in the postseason, our Badgers have given us enough pride to last a lifetime.

Here are some memorable moments from past years:

Fans cheered on the Badgers at the Sett in 2014 against Arizona in the Elite Eight. After a 64-63 win, UW-Madison advanced to the Final Four.

Badgers supporters gathered in Union South’s Varsity Hall to rally behind the Badgers as they mourned the final minute of the 2015 NCAA championship against Duke in an agonizing 63-68 loss.

Huddled in the Sett at Union South, students and community members supported the Badgers in their 2017 fight to win the NCAA tournament.

While we mourn the Badger’s loss of their longstanding streak, we can find solace in the spirit March Madness provides and continue to cheer on the remaining teams.

The Wisconsin Union will provide basketball fans the opportunity to follow the tournament at gamewatches hosted in the Sett at Union South and der Rathskeller at Memorial Union.

So, where are you watching the tournament unfold? (Hint, seems like Memorial Union and Union South are pretty good places.)

The first 2018 NCAA tournament gamewatch will be held March 16. Click here for details about this and other upcoming gamewatches.
